Aura stacking is one of the most misunderstood mechanics in D2R. Remember these 4 key rules.
Item auras on the same character stack additively. Example: Dream helm + Dream shield = Holy Shock Lv30.
If a Paladin uses Fanaticism skill while wielding Beast, only the higher level applies — they don't stack.
If party member A has Might Lv20 and your merc has Might Lv17, only Lv20 applies.
Fanaticism + Conviction + Might all apply simultaneously when they are different auras.
Act 2 mercenaries get different auras depending on hire difficulty and type. Normal only offers Prayer, Defiance, and Blessed Aim, while Nightmare and Hell also unlock Might, Holy Freeze, and Thorns — making them the most popular choices.

Conviction reduces enemy elemental resistances, making it core for elemental builds. However, it only applies at 1/5 effectiveness against immune monsters.
Bind Demon at Lv20+ grants a random aura. Aim for the top-tier auras.
